Victor Colebut (age 41)

On July 8, 2020, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Victor Colebut with one count of murder, domestic; one count of simple assault and battery, third domestic offense; and one count of violating a no contact order, third domestic offense.

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Pawtucket sometime between February 16, 2020 and February 17, 2020. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on July 29, 2020 in Providence County Superior Court.

The White House coronavirus task force is out with some dire warnings about the ongoing outbreak. The task force issued a report to states that said, "We are in a very dangerous place." The report warned that another surge after Thanksgiving could overwhelm the nation's healthcare system.       The New York Times says President Trump is talking to advisers about pardoning his children. The newspaper says the talks are about preemptive pardons for Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump. Ivanka's husband Jared Kushner would also be included.       Federal judge Esther Salas says the law named after her murdered son Daniel is necessary, adding judges face harassment and attack far too often. Attorney Den Hollander allegedly attacked Daniel Anderl and Salas' husband Mark Anderl back in July. Daniel died and Mark was badly wounded.       It's now up to Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to decide whether a police reform bill becomes law. The state legislature has sent the bill to Baker that would require police officers to undergo standardized training and licensing, which would be run by a nine-member panel. The commission would also oversee investigations into officer misconduct.       Gloria Estefan is talking about her fight with coronavirus. The singer-songwriter detailed her battle on Instagram Tuesday, saying she was eating and somebody came up to her and talked while not wearing a mask. Estefan later tested positive after losing her sense of taste and smell.       The streaming app Quibi isn't active anymore. It shut down yesterday and users aren't able to sign in. It debuted in early April and was led by big names including former Hewlett Packard President and CEO Meg Whitman.
