More jobs were created last month than expected. The Labor Department says 263-thousand jobs were added to the nation's economy in November, which is over the 200-thousand experts had predicted. Job gains in leisure and hospitality helped lead the way last month along with healthcare and government.       It's the last day to vote early in Georgia's Senate runoff election. Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker are squaring off in a race to decide the nation's last Senate seat. Polls will also be open statewide from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.       Illinois House Democrats are proposing a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines. Lawmakers also want to take away the ability for most people under 21 to obtain a gun permit in the state. The legislation was filed in response to the deadly mass shooting at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, north of Chicago.       The President of France is visiting New Orleans today. Mayor Latoya Cantrell will welcome Emmanuel Macron [[ MAH-crohn ]] at Jackson Square before he meets with Governor John Bel Edwards. A visit to the New Orleans Museum of Art will follow, where Macron will announce the creation of a fund to promote the teaching of French in American schools.       All federal inmates who were being held in private prisons are now in federal facilities. The Bureau of Prisons began designating low-security inmates to privately managed facilities back in the 80s to manage the increasing prison population. Last year, President Biden signed an executive order directing the bureau to move the inmates back to federal facilities, calling it "the first step to stop corporations from profiting off of" incarceration."       TGI Fridays is off the hook in a lawsuit over mozzarella sticks. A woman sued the company because the appetizer is made with cheddar cheese rather than mozzarella. A federal judge agreed to remove TGI Fridays as a defendant because the chain doesn't make the cheese sticks, but only licenses its name.
