President Biden is approving a bill to prevent a national railroad strike. The measure forces a deal between freight railroads and their unions, averting a December 9th shutdown. Biden said the resolution will ensure the U.S. avoids an "economic catastrophe" as the railroads are the backbone of the supply chain.       Americans are taking home more money. As part of the latest jobs report, the Labor Department says average hourly earnings went up by 18 cents in November. The average wage is now 32-dollars and 82-cents.       Californians are remembering the seventh anniversary of a terrorist attack in San Bernardino today. Authorities say 14 people died and 22 were injured after a man and his wife opened fire during a work training event at the Inland Regional Center in 2015. A virtual event is taking place where the shooting happened.       Cryptocurrency company FTX is looking at even more issues after filing for bankruptcy. The Department of Justice is asking for the appointment of independent examiner in the case. They want that person to look at "substantial and serious allegations of fraud, dishonesty" along with "incompetence."       Public health officials in Los Angeles County are strongly considering issuing a new indoor mask mandate. The county is back in the CDC's medium COVID activity level, averaging more than 27-hundred new infections per day. That equals a 180-percent increase since the start of November.       USC plays Utah for the Pac 12 football championship in Las Vegas tonight. A win would almost certainly lock USC into the College Football Playoff. The Trojans are ranked fourth in the nation after wins against rivals UCLA and Notre Dame.
