RIPTA Urges Passengers to Sign Up For Service Alerts As Winter Storm Approaches
Heavy Snow Could Make Travel Difficult
Providence, Rhode Island, March 14, 2023 -- In anticipation of a winter storm impacting the state beginning this afternoon, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is urging passengers to prepare for possible delays and detours by signing up for email alerts at RIPTA.com. Service information will be available at RIPTA.com/alerts , as well as RIPTA’s social media accounts (Facebook @RideRIPTA, Twitter @RIPTA_RI) and on Transit app. Passengers are encouraged to monitor news reports as well.
Due to winter storm predictions, passengers are advised to be prepared for delays in service and the possibility of service being suspended if it becomes no longer safe to travel. Passengers are asked to plan accordingly, and to please remember that safety is RIPTA’s top priority.

RIPTA is pleased to offer service updates by route, so you can receive information that may impact you. This service provides subscribers with information about detours, temporary service disruptions and service changes on the routes they ride. To sign up for route-specific email alerts, visit RIPTA.com/schedules. Click on the route you would like to receive alerts for and then click on “Receive Updates for This Schedule.” Enter your email address in the form that pops up and then click “Subscribe.” You will now receive service information regarding that bus route.
Former President Trump says he'll debate President Biden at the New York courthouse where his trial is taking place if he wants. In a social media post this afternoon he responded to President Biden saying in an interview with radio host Howard Stern he'd be willing to debate Trump. Earlier this month, a dozen of the nation's biggest news organizations posted an open letter urging Biden and Trump to participate in televised debates.
