The CEO of TikTok is getting grilled on Capitol Hill as the U.S. considers banning the popular app. The House committee is focusing on concerns about the app's data privacy, protections for kids, and TikTok's connection to the Chinese Communist Party. Members grilled the CEO over videos on the site like the "blackout challenge" that has led to death of some young children.        The Manhattan District Attorney is pushing back against demands that he testify about the probe into former President Trump. In a letter to top House Republicans, Alvin Bragg said their recent letter to him was an abnormal "inquiry into a pending local prosecution." He said the letter came after Trump posted on his social media site Truth Social that he would be arrested on Tuesday.        House Republicans are demanding documents related to the chaotic and deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan. During a Congressional hearing that included Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Texas Republican Michael McCaul threatened to subpoena the State Department to obtain a dissent cable authored by diplomats serving in the U.S. Embassy in Kabul before the 2021 withdrawal. The cable reportedly warned of the risk that the Afghan government would collapse.        The head of Citigroup says recent bank failures aren't a sign of systemic trouble in the financial system. During an event in Washington, DC, CEO Jane Fraser said the banking system is sound and the two banks that recently went under had "a lot of issues." Her remarks come after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.        The White House reportedly will break up its COVID-19 response team after the public health emergency ends in May. The Washington Post on Wednesday cited current and former officials who said some staffers have already left and national coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha is expected to leave the Biden administration once his team is disbanded. The COVID-19 response team was created in 2020 in the early days of the pandemic and expanded to about three-dozen staffers under President Biden.        The NCAA Tournament resumes today with Sweet 16 action. The day kicks off with seventh-seeded Michigan State and third-seeded Kansas State clashing in the East Region at Madison Square Garden. The day concludes with a meeting between second-seeded UCLA and third-seeded Gonzaga.
