Michael Fernandes (age 34)

Cumberland, RI

On May 24, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Michael Fernandes with one count of murder, one count of discharging a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence resulting in death, one count of carrying a pistol without a license, one count of violation of a non-contact order, one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and one count of possession of a large capacity magazine.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on January 19, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 29, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Robert Perry (age 34)

Pawtucket, RI

On May 24, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Robert Perry with one count of murder, one count of possession of a knife longer than three inches while committing a crime of violence.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the Town of Cumberland on September 23, 2023. The Cumberland Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on June 12, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Chaz Gagnon (age 20)

Pawtucket, RI

On May 24, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Chaz Gagnon with one count of driving to endanger death resulting, and one count of obstructing a police officer.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of East Providence on December 10, 2023. The East Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on June 12, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Joshua Belmont (age 36)

On May 24, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Joshua Belmont with one count of first-degree robbery, and one count of assault with intent to rob.,

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on January 7, 2023. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on June 12, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Terrell Muhammad

On May 24, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Terrell Muhammad with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, and one count of assaulting a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the Town of North Providence on March 19, 2024. The North Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on June 12, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

The National Hurricane Center says Ernesto will then head northward and into the Atlantic.        A former Colorado clerk is facing up to 22 years in prison for election tampering. Tina Peters was convicted yesterday and will be sentenced in October. Prosecutors argued she let an unauthorized person access Mesa County's voting equipment in 2021 and make a copy of hard drives, as well as pictures of passwords, and then tried to cover it up.        U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles will not have her appeal heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. On Sunday, the International Olympic Committee said it would take away her bronze medal because of a scoring error. Monday, USA Gymnastics said in a statement that it was notified that CAS rules don't allow for an arbitral award to be reconsidered.
