Champlin's Realty Associates v. the Coastal Resources Management Council

 

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Attorney General Peter F. Neronha issued the following statement today following the order filed by the Rhode Island Supreme Court in Champlin's Realty Associates v. the Coastal Resources Management Council:

 

“I am pleased with the Court’s decision to grant our motion to intervene in Champlin's Realty Associates v. the Coastal Resources Management Council. As an intervening party in this case, my Office is seeking to protect Rhode Island's unique coastal environment and ensure that the CRMC follows a fair, transparent, and legal process when considering any proposal by Champlin's to expand its marina.”

 

Multiple police officers have been shot during an early morning car chase in Georgia. Details are still coming in and there's been no word on the extent of the officers' injuries. The chase began with the Georgia State Patrol but eventually involved several additional agencies before things ended in Carroll County.        Health experts are worried a coronavirus surge in Michigan could be a sign of things to come across the nation. The U.K. strain is fueling the spike among younger people. It's become the most common of five strains spreading, proving to be more contagious and possibly deadlier.        Many are calling for police body camera video to be turned over after a deadly shooting in Minnesota. An officer fired on a 20-year-old man who tried to get back in his car during a traffic stop. That sparked violent protests, with looters targeting 20 businesses overnight.        The governor of Virginia says he'll invite an Army medic pepper sprayed during a traffic stop to a meeting on police reform. Lieutenant Caron Nazario is seen on video in December in his car as two officers point their gun. The one who doused him with pepper spray has been fired.       Disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein will appear in a New York courtroom today as he serves 23 years for rape. His lawyers are trying to delay his extradition to Los Angeles. That's where he's reportedly been indicted on more rape charges with an arrest warrant issued.        Prince Harry is grieving with the Royal family in the U.K. where he returned yesterday for the first time in a year. He'll be attending his grandfather's funeral on Saturday as his wife, Meghan Markle, stays home in California. Prince Philip died on Friday at the age of 99.
