Uncertainty surrounds the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh has said he's willing to testify at a hearing on Monday, but the woman who has accused him of sexual assault has not accepted an invitation to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Christine Blasey Ford said Kavanaugh assaulted him when they were in high school in Maryland in the 1980s.        President Trump doesn't think the FBI wants to investigate sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. In a White House photo-op today, Trump said if they FBI wanted to be involved he "would certainly do that." The Justice Department says the FBI has already done all it was going to do, because "the allegation does not involve any potential federal crime."        North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper says 16 rivers statewide are at major flood stage due to Florence, and three more will reach that stage on tomorrow or Thursday. Cooper added more than 11-hundred roadways are closed due to severe floodwater and some are still at risk of closing. Over 30 people died as a result of Florence, most in North Carolina.        A push to punish people who don't report child sexual abuse is making its way through to the Pennsylvania legislature amid the clergy abuse scandal. Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro is calling for support for a bill that would strengthen laws mandating reporting of child sexual abuse and clarify stronger penalties for failure to report. The measure is supported by lawmakers and people who say they were abused by clergy.        McDonald's workers are demanding an end to sexual harassment. An unprecedented #MeToo movement strike started at lunchtime at McDonald's restaurants in ten cities, including San Francisco, Chicago and Miami. Workers are reportedly upset with McDonald's failure to address groping, propositions for sex and other illegal behavior in restaurants nationwide.        Today is National Cheeseburger Day, and good deals are where you find them. Download the McDonald's app and get a cheeseburger for a dollar till the end of the month. Get a free Dave's Single cheeseburger with any purchase at Wendy's all this month, but only through the app.
