Recycle Smart!

NO Recycling in BAGS!  Bagged recyclables end up landfilled, not recycled, because there is no way to open those bags.  Recyclables can only be reused if we can sort them into like materials. If recyclables are stuck in plastic or paper bags; metal cans, for example, cannot be sorted differently than a plastic water bottle, and cannot be recycled.

President Trump say he hopes he and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will be able to meet in the coming weeks. But Trump warned he'd leave the meeting if it is not generating results. During a news conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe [[ SHEEN-zoe AH-bay ]] in Florida yesterday, Trump said he wants the Korean Peninsula to be peaceful and free of nuclear weapons.        The FAA is ordering inspections of jet engine fan blades like the one that snapped off and caused an engine on a Southwest Airlines flight to explode during a flight Tuesday. A woman was fatally injured when shrapnel from the engine blew out a window and she was pulled partway out of the plane. The plane made an emergency landing in Philadelphia.       President Trump travels to Key West today as his weeklong stay in Florida continues. He's scheduled to visit an interagency anti-drug trafficking task force.        California Governor Jerry Brown is mobilizing 400 National Guard troops to combat transnational crime. Earlier this month, President Trump called for up to four-thousand National Guard troops to be deployed to the border to work with the Border Patrol.        This week's theft of explosives from a work site in Pennsylvania is bigger than authorities originally thought. ATF investigators learned yesterday an additional case of dynamite is missing. That means thieves stole more than 700 pounds of explosives are missing, not 640 pounds as first reported. The thieves also made off with 400 blasting caps Monday. The ATF is offering a ten-thousand dollar reward.        New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is going to let 35-thousand convicted felons vote. They've been barred from voting by a New York law that requires felons to complete their parole before their voting rights can be restored. Cuomo said yesterday he'll issue an executive order to restore voting rights to felons now on parole and those who enter the parole system every month.
